In All Things Erika, Reader Unboxed

Do you ever wonder how your life might’ve turned out if you’d made different decisions? It’s a universal question that we all ask ourselves at one point or another. One that I always come back to is: where would I be if I would’ve gone to art school in NYC rather than business school in PA? I’m sure my career would’ve followed a vastly different trajectory. And I probably wouldn’t be living in the same town where I grew up. But would I have met my wonderful husband? Would I have returned to my love of writing?

That’s the thing about the road not taken…you’ll never know how it might have turned out. Unless, of course, you have a portal in your basement that can transport you to your parallel life where you made those different decisions.

Sounds crazy, right? Well, it’s actually the thought-provoking premise of The Other Life by Ellen Meister, which I’m discussing today over at Reader Unboxed. I hope you’ll check it out.

What decisions do you wonder about?

I really like your review style Erika. I’m not a big review reader, but am enjoying the different writing styles and books featured on Reader Unboxed. I’ve lived a few different lives it seems in my decades on this earth and do my best to live without regret. I always like to think I take the road less traveled, but a few years ago found a funny sticker that is under the clear mat on my desk: “I chose the road less traveled. Now, where the hell am I.”
