In Erika's Dreams, Learning from Legends

One of my favorite things about summer is the way that everything – both personally and professionally – usually slows WAY down…and by August, grinds to a halt altogether. This summer, however, has been nothing like that.

And the way things are going, fall is going to be even busier.

I truly HATE to do this, but in order to successfully balance my day job, the revisions to my manuscript (which are coming along extremely slowly at the moment), my blogging, and the renovations to a new property we recently bought, I feel I must suspend our Legends Book Club temporarily.

It may seem like no big deal that I’m doing this, but I didn’t arrive at this decision lightly. You see, whether you read the books or not, I made a committment to this and a hiatus feels…disappointing. Particularly because I LOVE reading about all these inspiring people and learning how they overcame obstacles in order to achieve greatness. And I REALLY LOVE discussing it with you. BUT, in the interest of my sanity, and in order to focus my “free time” where it’s needed most, I must put this piece aside for the time being.

Don’t worry, I’ll still be here blogging and cheering for you as you chase your dreams. And I’m still taking suggestions for future book club reads [e-mail them to me at erika (dot) liodice (at sign) hotmail (dot) com]. I’m just shifting my focus a bit.

Today I’ll leave you with this thought: “Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony.” -Thomas Merton
