Anyone who’s ever started a blog – or thought about starting a blog – knows it’s a precarious undertaking. Sure, naming it and choosing your color scheme are a blast. And there’s nothing like the thrill of your first comment from someone who’s not a) your mother, b) your husband or c) a Slovenian hacker peddling Viagra. But after the honeymoon phase wears off, there comes a pivotal make-it-or-break-it moment when you, as a blogger, wonder if you have enough brass, perseverance and, let’s face it, interesting stuff to say, to keep people coming back.
That’s why I was awestruck the other day when I logged on and saw that Beyond the Gray has surpassed 20,000 hits! It seems like only yesterday that number was barely 20, and now here we are.
Looking back over the last year or so, I’d have to say that one of the most amazing aspects of this journey has been discovering just how many people are struggling to follow their dreams and live meaningful, purpose-driven lives (and here I thought it was just me!). I started Beyond the Gray in hopes of developing my writing and documenting my journey to publication, but what I really accomplished was overcoming my own “gray” and arriving at a place where I finally feel, well…happy.
Thanks to all my readers for helping to make this unbelievable milestone a reality!
Congrats Erika! I can remember when you made reaching 10,000 one of your goals for this year….and you’ve doubled it!
Of course, this also dates me, or shows how long I’ve been following this blog!
Thanks for your continued interest, Suzanne!
