As aspiring novelists, it’s no secret that the odds are stacked against us when it comes to getting our manuscripts published, which can make the idea of building a whole career as a novelist seem downright impossible. That’s why I was thrilled when I discovered a free e-book – written by top literary agent, Donald Maass – that offers strategies for improving the odds.

The Career Novelist: A Literary Agent Offers Strategies for Success was published back in the mid-90s, but Maass’ advice for breaking in (and staying in) still rings true today.
