The 2009 Tour de France has concluded and for the first time Lance Armstrong placed 3rd. As the race went on, I think there was a part of each of us that believed that somehow he’d magically pull through and come out on top once again. But he didn’t, he came in 3rd, proving that even legends have to deal with disappointment from time to time. The important thing about Lance’s story, is that he’s not hanging up his helmet. He’s already looking forward to competing in 2010, confident that he will be back in first place once again.
