If you didn’t have to worry about money, what would you do with your life?
Ah, the golden question of our youths. Do you remember your high school guidance counselor asking you this question as you began to plot out your bright, gleaming future? What was your answer? A pro-athlete? A rock star? A veterinarian? An artist? And what are you doing now, all of these years later? Are you doing something you love and are passionate about or have you followed the path of least resistance? Are you happy and fulfilled or do you sometimes feel lost, out of place or just plain unhappy with what you’re doing with your life?
If you find yourself in the latter group, don’t despair. This blog is for you (and the millions of others who feel the same way).
What is “the gray”?
“The gray” is an existential crisis of sorts. It’s that place we all find ourselves in at one point or another – after college, following a birth or a death, at a milestone birthday, after a divorce or separation, during retirement – when you scratch your head and wonder…is this really all there is?
The gray manifests itself in many different ways. Some people feel lost or unmotivated, others unfulfilled. Often times it’s a feeling of disappointment because you thought you’d be doing something more with your life, something bigger or better. Whatever it is, most of us have found (or will find) ourselves in the gray at some point in our lives. The good news, and the purpose of this blog, is that each of us has the power to define the meaning and purpose of our own lives and move beyond the gray.
Beyond the Gray
In order to move beyond the gray, you must decide what you really want out of life and take action. Here at Beyond the Gray, you will find interviews with other people who are chasing their dreams, advice on how to follow yours, tips, guidance, wisdom and words of inspiration.
My experience has shown me that so many talented and capable people are living way below their true potential because they’re trapped in a situation – a dead-end job, a bad marriage, an unhealthy relationship – by roadblocks of their own creation: fear, money, lack of confidence, etc. Don’t let your true calling pass you by. Join our conversation and move beyond the gray and closer to the life of your dreams.
